NATOA Celebrates 2019 Government Programming Award Winners

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) honored the winners of the 34th Annual Government Programming Awards (GPA) tonight at the Tampa Marriott Water Street in Tampa, FL. The awards program honors excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies. This year NATOA received more than 945 entries submitted by local governments across the country.
Entries in the categories cover a variety of programming including, among others, community events, documentary, public affairs and public service, interview/talk show, performing arts, sports, election coverage and children's issues. Among the awards with special significance are the "Excellence in Programming" awards which are judged on the agency's variety of programming quality throughout the year. This year's Excellence awards were presented to the following outstanding NATOA communities:
- "City of Denton Television (DTV)" City of Denton, TX,- Programming Excellence (Operating Budget To $250,000)
- "Allen City Television (ACTV)" City of Allen, TX, -- Overall Excellence (Operating Budget $250,000 - $500,000)
- "TV Tacoma" City of Tacoma, WA -- Overall Excellence (Operating Budget $500,000 - $1,000,000)
- "Seattle Channel Overall Excellence" The Seattle Channel, WA - Overall Excellence (Operating Budget Over $1,000,000)
