FCC Announces Start Date for EBB Program
The FCC has announced the launch of the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program). The EBB Program is a $3.2 billion fund established by Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, to provide subsidies toward the cost of high-speed internet services and devices for eligible households during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Providers participating in the EBB Program can begin enrolling eligible households into the program, and households will be able to check their eligibility directly by using the National Lifeline Eligibility Verifier consumer portal, starting on May 12, 2021.
