Cheryl Leanza

Cheryl A. Leanza has been practicing communications law for almost 30 years with a wide scope of practice including Internet access, broadcast and cable regulation, social media corporate accountability and affordability in communications. Cheryl is skilled in appellate litigation and representing clients before the Federal Communications Commission and in Congress. Cheryl plays a key role at the intersection of civil rights and communications policy and is a nationally recognized authority in equity in access to communications. In the last few years, Cheryl represented local government coalitions in the Sixth Circuit with respect to the FCC’s interpretation of Section 621 of the Cable Act; in the Ninth Circuit with respect to eligible facilities requests under Section 6409 of the Communications Act; and filing cert petitions to the Supreme Court regarding cable franchising and small cell regulation.
