Lynne Bradley

Director, Office of Government Relations - American Libraries Association


Lynne E. Bradley is Director of the Office of Government Relations of the American Library Association. Lynne has been at the ALA Washington Office for over sixteen years working on many issues including telecommunications, First Amendment, privacy and government information policy.

She has worked at public libraries in the District of Columbia and Maryland and holds two masters degrees, in Library and Information Science as well as Communications, from the University of Maryland. She is a graduate of Cornell University.

Before coming to the ALA Washington Office, Lynne served three terms on the Takoma Park (Maryland) City Council, managed her own small “for-fee” research company and wrote for a local monthly newspaper. She is a veteran of many local political campaigns and in another life, has been a semi-professional art quilt designer and curator of fiber arts exhibits.
