Bio:
Ingrid Hu Dahl is the Director of Next Gen (youth programs) at Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) in San Francisco, CA. A recent transplant from Brooklyn, NY where she was a Program Officer of Youth Media and Editor-in-Chief of Youth Media Reporter, Dahl has documented the best practices of youth media for five years and authored "The State of the Youth Media Field," supported by McCormick Foundation in 2009. Dahl is a founding member of the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls and sits on the board of Women, Action and the Media. She holds a Masters degree in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ) and lectures nationally and internationally on youth media, media literacy, women's leadership, and social change. Dahl believes in the power of laughter, new ways of seeing, and that thinking outside the box, making media and unlearning oppression can catalyze social change. A musician for over 10 years, Dahl is currently in the bi-coastal dance duo RAD PONY.
