Jeff was first trained and used Public Access TV equipment in Fridley, Minnesota in 1979 and continued to volunteer until 1990. He graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Television. He was hired in 1985 as Video Producer and was promoted a year later to District TV Coordinator for the Rochester Public Schools, Rochester, Minnesota, in Educational Access TV where he worked from 1985-97, where he was instrumental in the growth of the channel and the purchase of the district's remote TV production truck. He then spent 11 years in Government Access TV as Cable Coordinator with the City of Lakeville, Minnesota highlighted by the production staff winning an "Emmy", negotiating a new 15 year Franchise Agreement, and coordinating the redesign of the City Council Chambers and Master Control room. He served on the MACTA Board for 10 years, seven as President, highlighted by the receipt of "The NATOA Presidents Chapter of Excellence" Award in 2007. Jeff moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2008 and became the Cable Communications and Franchise Services Manager for the City of Tacoma, Washington in Government Access TV. His time has been highlighted with negotiating new Franchise agreements, managing CityNet, and supporting the production staff as they have won numerous NATOA Awards. In 2010 Jeff was awarded "NATOA’s Brian Wilson Memorial Award for Programming Excellence". Jeff has served on the NATOA Board of Directors for 2 terms (4 years) and has served as President, VP, and Board member with WATOA highlighted by the receipt of "The NATOA Presidents Chapter of Excellence" Award in 2011.
