Mary Beth Henry Biography
Mary Beth Henry has 20 years experience working in local government. She is currently the Deputy Director of the Office of Cable Communications and Franchise Management for the City of Portland, Oregon and staffs the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission. Over the last fourteen years she has focused her attention on issues related to cable and telecommunications as well as right of way management. She has negotiated numerous franchises. She oversaw the development of a wireless policy that encourages deployment of wireless in the right of way. In conjunction with the League of Oregon Cities, she directed an award-winning video “Right of Way: Protecting the Public’s Lifeline”. She attended college in Vermont and graduate school at the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. Outside of her professional work life, Mary Beth enjoys spending time with her two boys, her husband and volunteering in the schools. As time allows gardening, yoga, reading and hiking help balance the otherwise hectic schedule.
